Behind the Piece: How Rakitecht Makes Something That Doesn't Exist Anywhere Else

Every product at Rakitecht starts with the same question: what would it take to make this feel like it belongs in a museum?

Not literally. We are not making art for galleries, although a few of our pieces have ended up there. We are making objects for the spaces where you actually live, and we hold those to the same standard.

The Coffee Table Books Lite: How It Is Made

The Coffee Table Books Lite begins as an idea: what if the books on your coffee table were the art itself? Not a vessel for content, but the content. Not a prop, the protagonist.

From that question, we developed a process.

Step 1: The Form

Each book form is hand-designed to precise proportions, the kind that feel satisfying when you hold them, stack them, or simply see them across the room. We obsess over the spine width, the corner radius, the way the stack creates a natural hierarchy.

Step 2: Lightweight Resin Construction

Premium lightweight resin gives us something you cannot get from ceramic or wood: a finish that holds up. The matte surface absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving the piece weight without gloss, presence without noise. Each book is finished by hand.

Step 3: The Limited Edition

We make only 5. Not as a marketing decision, but as a quality decision. With 5, we can give each piece the attention it deserves. We know exactly where every piece is going. We finish each one ourselves.

Step 4: Made to Order

Your piece is made for you, after you order. That is why we ask for 4 to 8 weeks. You are not buying from a warehouse shelf. You are commissioning a handcrafted object from a studio that cares whether you are happy with it when it arrives.

Why We Made This

Rak built Rakitecht because she could not find the objects she wanted for her own space. The market was full of mass-produced items that felt hollow, and genuinely rare things that cost more than a car.

The Coffee Table Books Lite exists in the space between those things: genuinely handcrafted, actually limited, realistically priced for the person who takes their space seriously.
